Consequences of suplementing the HHO gas and CNG with EGR on diesel engine characteristics

Water electrolyzed hydroxyl gas (HHO or Brown gas) and compressed natural (CNG) are the important promising alternatives to pure fossil fuels. The global concern is about GHG emission in environment ambient air pollution steered by mass consumption of fuels automobile industries power sectors. In this study, combustion, performance characteristics HHO CNG mixtures supplied intake manifold compression ignition engine using diesel as a pilot fuel studied. same investigations repeated with various exhaust re-circulation (EGR) proportions study impact EGR on multi mode (diesel + CNG) Diesel engine. fueled performance, combustion parameters presented compared graph analytical discussion. results indicated that at full load, NOx decreased 4% (without EGR), 18% (with 10% EGR) smoke density 78% comparing operation constant speed 1500 rpm. Also more enhanced improving brake thermal efficiency 17%, reducing specific energy 19%, resulted better economy, due combustion.
